CANPulse brings live driver heart-rate telemetry from an Apple Watch or compatible Bluetooth heart-rate sensor directly onto a race car’s CAN bus.
Designed for racers, coaches and data engineers, CANPulse lets an existing dashboard or data logger record heart rate beside speed, RPM, throttle, brake pressure, steering, g-force and lap data. This creates one time-aligned dataset for reviewing driver workload, consistency and recovery.

One heart-rate channel for the whole car
CANPulse converts supported heart-rate sources into a configurable CAN 2.0 frame. The default setup uses a 29-bit identifier at 500 kbit/s and includes BPM, valid/connected/stale status, optional sensor battery, Bluetooth signal strength, sequence and protocol version.
A downloadable DBC is provided for compatible systems. Integration examples include AEM CD-series, Race Technology, selected Stack systems, configurable Cosworth Toolset products, MoTeC, AiM, ECUMaster and RaceCapture. Exact capabilities vary by model, firmware and software licence, so every installation must be checked and bench-tested.
Apple Watch and Bluetooth sensor support
The CANPulse Apple Watch app connects directly to the in-car unit during a session, so the iPhone does not have to relay telemetry while driving. Compatible sensors exposing the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service can also be assigned to driver profiles.
No CANPulse cloud account or subscription is required for normal operation. Heart-rate information remains local to the sensor, CANPulse and the vehicle data system.
Development update: production hardware and final vehicle validation are still in progress. CANPulse is motorsport performance and engineering equipment, not a medical device or safety-critical control input.
